Talk-Able

Talk-Able is a mobile app I designed and prototyped to support individuals with selective mutism and speech aphasia in overcoming communication challenges. The app provides a user-friendly interface with tools tailored to assist users in expressing themselves effectively. Features include customizable pre-set phrases, text-to-speech functionality, and visual cues, allowing users to communicate without relying on verbal speech. Talk-Able is designed with accessibility in mind, offering a seamless experience to bridge the gap between users and their communication needs, empowering them to interact more comfortably in various social settings. The concept for Talk-Able is based upon the PECS communication system and offers a digital expression using the PECS system in accompaniment with ease of portability and adjustable picture communication settings.
